Now That's Country!

Here's a quick glimpse at some southern, country adventures we've recently had in Texas. 

Brad Paisley Concert 

 

Brad Paisley has won numerous country awards including: Entertainer of the Year, Top Male Vocalist, and Top Artist of the Year. We actually saw him a couple years ago at Stadium of Fire so we were excited to hear him again.

We were so glad we had actual seats and didn't sit on the lawn.  So crowded!

Brad Paisley concert (we left early because it was soo loud, and people kept smoking right by our seats. Plus EVERYONE was drinking beer so we wanted to be off the roads before they all got on them given we were hit by a drunk driver back in March. We forgot concerts aren't a great environment to be in, especially with a child.)

Visit to Jane's Farm

My friend and prior manager from Hawaii, Jane, now lives in Terrell, Texas on a 5 acre lot out in the country.  We were down her way before the rodeo so we stopped to catch up, tour her place, and meet her family. It was so much fun!

Some cool African turkey birds.  Can't remember the official name.  Jane got them as a Mother's Day gift.

Dallin liked the donkey until he gave a loud "hee-haw" then it scared him and he cried. 

Loved seeing Jane again, last time was on Kauai in Dec. 2010 when Justin and I went for a visit.

Rodeo

There's not many things more "country" than a rodeo.  And Dallin is so easy to take everywhere that we could drive the hour to Mesquite to enjoy one.  I've been to rodeos all my life in Burley, but this one was in an Air Conditioned Arena. Genius and definitely my way to rodeo!
