Settling In

On June 11, Dallin got sick (the day before Janelle left) with 103.4 degree fever. Scary, but Tylenol broke it so we didn't end up having to go to the doctor. After he was sick for about 10 days, I caught it for the next week!
Sick and sleeping on Janelle before she left.
We are all back to good health now and feel like we're getting settled in here.  We've been to the library a few times, which has been fun. We live in Plano and have access to their 5 libraries, and Frisco as well, so plenty of variety!  Dallin enjoys picking out board books and watching the other kids read books and play.

We went to a book babies class which is 0-18 months.  After they sang songs, read a book, and brought out the signing bear, they dumped a bin of toys in the middle of the room.  All the kids that can crawl or walk hurried to the toys, but not Dallin.  He just sat and stared. :)  He's definitely an observer!  So funny to watch him sit there while all the other kids scurry around!

Most days we go on a walk or go swimming or run some type of errand. In grocery stores, everyone comments on how cute Dallin is and he's turned pretty social.  Before we left, he was particular with who he liked, but now he babbles and talks gibberish to strangers (sometimes it's loud and almost like yelling).  The other day at church, he bent down by the bench, then would pop up and stick his tongue out at the people behind us.  They got a good laugh out of him and enjoyed playing with him.

We bought some bubbles from Gymboree which are the best bubbles ever! I first saw them in a music and movement class that MBASA put on this last year.  After comparing them to $1 store bubbles that don't blow well and drip all over your hands, these are tons better!

We had a swim party with HP employees that are in the HR department and are recent interns or part of the MAP rotation program.  Fun to visit and meet new people and spouses and enjoy a private neighborhood pool.

Dallin is seriously so much fun right now!  He is starting to get more independent in some things which is fun to watch.  He just turned 13 months yesterday (on July 4) and FINALLY eats chunks of food.  He's been super picky and would only eat baby food, so I love being able to give him things to self feed while we are out and about.

He recently held his spoon and actually got messy-he's a VERY CLEAN eater.  We actually had to teach him to stick his hands in his yogurt and lick his fingers! I've watched my nephew Gavin and other babies that have to have a bath after every meal, so I guess I'm lucky with how clean he is.  :)

He's a handful right now, getting into EVERYTHING and making plenty of messes for me to clean up. He's still so fun and looks less like a baby and more like a little boy each day!

Loves shoes right now!  Will bring me a pair to put on and knows if it's the wrong foot or if the pair doesn't match!
Loves turning on and off the faucet (and light switches too).
Helping Mom load clothes in the dryer.

Decided he's done being helpful loading the clothes and that they now belong on the floor!
Look at all my hair!  Some people still think I'm bald, but see that thick patch on the back?
Sooo Cute & Happy!!
