Our Road Trip to Texas
Day 1- Provo, UT to Monticello, UT
We left Provo in our honda and mini-van rental about 3 pm Friday May 24th. We got Janelle in Mapleton and headed to Monticello for the night. She was our extra driver and Dallin entertainer for our 19 hour road trip over 2 1/2 days. So lucky to have her!

We had terrible traffic on Highway-6 into Moab, UT because EVERYONE goes to southern Utah on Memorial Day weekend! We stayed at the Monticello Inn which was nice and clean and they had homeade cinnamon rolls for breakfast so we couldn't complain! We enjoyed walking around the Monticello temple Friday evening. Probably the last time in 3 months that we'll wear jackets!

Day 2- Monticello, UT to Tucumcari, NM
| Albuquerque, NM Temple |
We enjoyed seeing little towns through Colorado and New Mexico though they were few and far between. We also loved having our 2 way car radios to keep each other awake. Thank you Craig for letting us borrow them! Most of the time, Justin was in the Honda and Janelle drove the van with me navigating, putting in cds, and taking care of Dallin. We took extra long food breaks and walked Dallin around as much as possible to get the wiggles out.

After dinner, we went swimming in the hotel pool. Dallin was timid at 1st, but enjoyed it after watching other kids and mom & dad splash around.
Day 3-Tucamcari, NM to Plano, TX
We made it the whole way today! Our original plan was to finish driving 2 hours on Monday, but we made it Sunday night. Driving today went well besides always steering against the wind. We were surprised at how much wind there was! Trees along the highway look permanently bent from the wind that obviously always blows in the same direction. :) At our lunch break the temperature hit 100 degrees! Welcome to the heat! We are excited to be in Texas. Dallin was a FANTASTIC traveler and we hope the trip home in August goes as smoothly as this one!

Sound like FUN adventure! Dallin is going to be a road trip warrior!
